We have two separate kinds of chat.

Chatter is the webchat seen throughout the site and forum. It is currently automated for your convenience.

IRC, or Internet Relay Chat, is faster and more versatile than chatter, with multiple channels, private chat, file transfers and more. Our server eliminates the problems of large networks and is configured to maximize security and privacy.

The server is online, with 93 users. See IRC Server Status for some statistics and list of current channels.

Many commands and tools are provided to create your own channels and manage their membership and use. There are no official deoxy chat channels but some of them are associated with our services like #chatter, #news, #search and #wiki.

This server is provided to the public for free without any liability to the providers, no matter what. By using this system you agree to that. The only exception to open access on this server are uses perceived as hostile to the intent of this website or malicious towards those using it.

There is only one server operator whose identity can be verified by using /whois to see if they are "a Network Administrator".

Access

IRC can be accessed in many ways, some listed here in order of complexity.

Recent versions of Firefox/Chatzilla may not support SSL on our IRC server. It will still connect to the second set of links below (problems with SSL). Please try a better IRC client like XChat.

  1. Install an IRC client.

  2.   3. Or create your own channel by typing: /join #mychannel after connecting to the server with SSL or without SSL.


Java

If you have the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed try one of our Java Clients : APIRC or PJIRC. If they don't work you may need to update Java. The Java applets do not support encrypted connections with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).

Our server runs Unreal IRCd with hostname cloak, optional vhost, and Anope IRC Services.

  • Nickserv protects your name and allows access to other services.
  • Chanserv lets you register and control your own channel.
  • Memoserv sends short messages to other users and channels.
  • Botserv gives you a bot on your channels.
