Dear Friends of Terence McKenna:

Here is an update on Terence's health and a request for help. Please help if you can.

Thank you, Susanne Sims, Director, New Millennium Institute

A letter from Arne Wong:

Hi, I went up to see Terence. It will take a miracle from God to bring him back to us.

He lay quietly in a small bedroom at Jack and Ricci's home, hooked up to an IV, barely able to lift his head up from his buckwheat pillow. He drifted in an out of consciousness as we spoke. There was no muscle tone left in his body, he looked like an holocaust victem...skin and bone.

We spoke of love and how unexpected events continually surprise us in every moment. He told me that he finally understood that love permeates all that is, and it is the only real thing in this reality. He is OK with what is happening, and doesn't know where is he headed. Christy has been caretaking him since his first seizure, and has been there for him 24 hrs. a day. She is mentally exhausted and now has to worry about the finances that are rapidly depleting whatever savings they have. The treatments of vitamins and nutriants are not covered in his medical insurance, in fact nothing from this moment on is covered by insurance. The IV daily doses of nutrients are up to $250 a day.

Terence needs financial aid, and needs it now. He could go any minute, or he could be around a few more months. it would be a shame if his friends and admirers didn't help him at his hour of need.

I gave Terence $2000 from my savings. I plan to give more if no one else contributes within the next week or two.

Unlike Timothy Leary, Terence is quietly and gently leaving this world. No fan fare, no videos, no announcements, no commercials. What price can we put to all the gifts he has given us? We, who are still alive and will thrive and prosper from his wisdom and teachings. What percentage of our material wealth are we willing to part to help a friend?

If we truly understand the wisdom of reality that Terence has generously shared with us, why aren't we giving him a hand in his last hours on earth.

I thought those who are far more wealthy than I would have donated vast sums to aid him in this time, I was horrified that my donations exceeded those who were far more wealthy than I. What kind of rational is going on with these people?

In a very short time, Terence may become history, then again he could surprise us and come back as a miracle. In either case, he is too humble to ask for help. I am asking you and everyone you know that has benefited from Terence's words, to give what they can to make his life comfortable while he is still here.

If you want to send him money, here's the address:
