White Cube is a term from art-theory which marks the usual place for the work of art, the gallery or the art museum in art-system.
The term, which is used particularly in the 'concept art', brings up many aspects for discussion: the aesthetical neutrality of a showroom/place of art-exhibition/(=white cube) DOES influence the viewer and loses it's status of neutral space of re-presentation of art. The White Cube has it's esthetic roots in the architecture of the modernism, which publicized the naked, white wall as overcoming of historicism. On the other hand the term White Cube stands also for an institution criticism in the art: The White Cube is The Institution, that ennobles the meaning and value on the art-market/art-system. It ennobles/transforms The Work Of Artist into Work Of Art. Ergo:White Cube as Institution is is not neutral in relation to the works of art. The curator decides which artist assigns to this rank. First the artwork that takes place in the White Cube/Institution? of the gallery is identifiable and identified as Art.

na tej provizorični internet-strani Vam predstavljam(o) koncept razstave, ki se v okviru Vaše institucije (ki je povod za ta koncept) nanaša na ravno ta 'deoxy'-internetni projekt, na katerega serverju se nahajate. 'DEOXY'-intrenetni-projekt ( http://www.deoxy.org ) je v svoji historični osnovi delo 'Dimitri'-ja, entuziasta iz San Francisca, ki je pribljižno pred desetletjem sprogramiral interaktivno user-friendly-stran http://www.deoxy.org , ki jo danes upravljajo on in njegovi vsebinsko-programerski pribočniki in mi, registrirani člani na deoxy-ju. 'Internet-users', ki se zbirajo na tem naslovu tvorijo takoimenovano internet-community, katere definicija pa še zdaleč ni enoznačna. Menim, da je posebnost dotične internet-ponudbe predvsem v tem, da nam 'host' (=gostitelj) nudi možnosti kreativnega semi-programiranja, ki nam omogoča inovativno umetniško izražanje in sodelovanje.

Tvorec DEOXY-ja (Dimitri) je poimenoval osnovno pojmovanje človekove psihologije '8fold Model of Human Consciousness' ( http://deoxy.org/8brains.htm ). Conceptual/cognitive because it doesn't adress your eye-senses exclusivly or primary, but suggests you to consider the 'exhibited' contributions also in cognitive sense, as 'documents' of certain 'hidden' acting of the various power-systems. In nowadays trendy terminology this would be called 'documenting the conspiracies in their process of being unfolded' in any kind of form - as audio or visual 'documents'. DEOXY-razstave so projekti v progresu, ki pa so odprti za vse - editira jih lahko vsakdo. Na deoxy-ju je približno 10 do 20 stalno delujočih 'art-aktivistov', krog le teh pa se širi iz tedna v teden. Na deoxy-ju smo lansko leto začeli razvijati 'gibanje' Lingvističnega Hedonizma:

Realizacija razstave:
sama postavitev razstave bi zaobsegala nekatere materializacije/printe ali fotografij, ali drugih vizualnih umetniških del, ki so primerna za tovrstno materializacijo. Ker je na deoxy-ju tudi kar nekaj zelo dobrih glasbenikov, bi za zvočno kuliso razstave uporabili posnetek nasnetih skladb izbranih umetnikov. V galeriji bi se predvajali tudi videi deoxy-video-umetnikov, kot projekcija na steno.
Izbor umetnikov bi prvenstveno opravila jaz, s pomočjo enega glavnih programerjev na deoxy-ju, ki je obenem odgovoren za editiranje internih deoxy-wiki-strani.

Vanesa Cvahte Zaključila sem študij umetnostne zgodovine na Karl Frances Universitaet v Gradcu. Kot kustos sem bila zaposlena v Slovenj Gradcu, projektno pa sem bila aktivna kot kustos nekaterih razstav v Sloveniji in v Avstriji. Trenutno sem zaposlena v družinskem podjetju Gradbeni Biro Cvahte.
