CYCLOPS
There are 2 groups of Cyclopes. The first comes from Tarturs the other Poseidon and Thoosa. They have of course a large 1 eye and are giants. They are also not very nice, eating people and such.

Only female griffins have wings, male ones are called keythongs. They can fly, sometimes serve as guardians
Chimera
According to Homer chimeras are "a thing of immortal make, not human, lion-fronted and snake behind, a goat in the middle, and snorting out the breath of the terrible flame of bright fire". Most are female, are near storms shipwrecks and natural disasters. They are not nice to people. In the Star Wars expanded universe, Grand Admiral Thrawn flagship is called the Chimera.

Manticore
Notorious for tricking humans into their maws. The manticore can kill instantly with a bite or a scratch and will then eat the victim entirely, bones and all. Whenever a person disappears completely, it is said that the locals consider it the work of the manticore.
Great Old ones
ancient devil gods of immense power and also colossal in size
Chupacabra
Means "goat sucker", this cryptid drinks the blood of livestock, usualy seen in latin america
Reptoid
supposdly some dinosours escaped extinction by hiding underground and became humanlike

Be it rodents spiders or lizards sometimes these things get out cause of radiation and attack the city
Parasite
controling people and turning them into monsters, parasites prove the most powerfull enemy isnt always on the outside

Wearing really dark brown, they say some have glowing eyes and wires sticking out of them.
Shadow Person
What is this? a ghost? a inter dimensional being?
Gremlin
Arch enemy of Bugs Bunny they like to break things, and hang on airplane wings.

A very minor yet mischievious demon
Mongolian Death Worm
A worm in Mongolia its large goes under the sand like in Dune shoots lightning spits acid and eats people.
Giant Squid
Originally thought of as legends, they like to eat boats - with you in them.
Mummy
Strong undead undead egyptians, with power to curse you to utter ruin
Lich
A undead who in life was a very powerful Wizard / Sorcerer. They have few weaknesses.
Flying spaghetti Monster
Is it god? angry Italians? A angry 8 year old who wont eat his spaghetti?
Orcs
The ultimate "quantity" in the endless struggle of "quality vs quantity" they are green and mean. Acording to Tolken they were once elves. Also see Orks, from Warhammer 40 000
Giant
Giants are like people, but very large. In some mythology they are nice, in others they are not and like to eat people. In the Sci-fi Anime Robotech the alien Zhentradi are giants.

Troll
Trolls are originally from Scandinavian folklore. They like the woods, underground caves, mounds and of course briges. they are not friendly to people. Also certain people on the internet are called trolls...
Vampires
Vampires are humans whom either get bitten by a vampire or by other means turn into a supernatural creature. They must drink human blood to survive but have many powers. They are super strong, super fast, have seductive charms and according to some mythology can turn into bats. Some weakness they have are holy water, garlic, sunlight and stakes.
Jersey Devil
A creature living in New Jersey it is rumored to be a cursed human.
Dragon
There are two kinds of dragons.
The Western dragon
These dragons are winged quadrupeds and usually breath fire. they are usually portrayed as evil burning down crops eating people capturing princesses. Often hounded by brave Knights looking for glory or treasure.
The Chinese dragon
Unlike western dragons, Chinese dragons are serpent like and are mostly benevolent to people.
Midgard Serpent
Serpents are cousins to dragons, and live in the sea.
25,000 miles long, it encircled the World and was vulnerable only to the Hammer of Thor!
Golem
A golem is a soulless automaton like a robot. usualy made of stone or glass or metal. they are usually used by evil warlords as foot soldiers, like in the game Jade Empire. They should not be confused with Golem from LoTR?.
Grendel
Grendel attacked the geits in the poem Beowulf. Because of this Beowulf riped Grendel's arm off and killed Grendel's mother.
Shardin
4 storey tall mechanical bear, guarded a portal in the Gunslinger's dimension.
Goomba
Henchmen of Bowser and enemy of Mario they are weak and not very strong. They are easily defeated by jumping on them. They are made to look like mushrooms, and are in the Mushroom Kingdom... and there are giant mushrooms in there and if Mario eats a mushroom he gets more powerful... maybe the popular series is hinting at something??
Zombie
Zombies are dead people reanimated by a virus, necromancy or something else. They have low intelligence and powerful kinetic attacks to the head can defeat them. For more information on how you can defend yourself against read the zombie survival handbook.
Ogre
Pretty tall. Pretty strong. Pretty dumb. Pretty in the eyes of goblins.
Goblins
Goblins like to live in underground. They go on raids for slaves, food and equipment. They are usually seen with mismatched armor and weapons. They are sensitive to the sun.
The Hero
Though not a monster at first they are usually eaten or killed by the monster. But if they do kill the monster well they always say "how do you kill a monster without becoming the monster?"
Sphinx
They asked profound riddles, so that the Hero might gain passage, insight, or treasure, or simply their life.
Tengu
Are powerful swordsmen adept at warfare. Ninja say they were decedents of them (no it isn't wearing jeans or farmer suit).
Wraith
Ghosts with a purpose, they go away from the light for purposes such as vengeance.
Humans
The most destructive of monsters and most numerous. With infinite complacency they are confident of their world spanning empire. Though physically weak they use a variety of tools, weapons, and tactics to destroy their opponents.
