"Psychedelics have a tremendously enhancing effect on sex. It's not exactly that they're aphrodisiacs, because they don't have an effect on performance, particularly, but whatever goes down is experienced much more intensely and vividly." Terence McKenna
Immediate Experiences And Behavioural Ramifications:
The feeling of sex on cannabis, oooh it's almost devilish!! - Taking a few sloppy draws and then slipping into the comfort of the messy embrace: sensations rumble, linger.. Each touch makes for the last one, and each new thrust completes the first. Something simply divine! But... what have you experienced whilst making love on cannabis..? We'd only be too happy to know. :P
From Robert Anton Wilson's book Sex and Drugs: A Journey Beyond Limits:
Marijuana has long had a reputation as 'the most powerful aphrodisiac in the world',
to quote John Dickson Carr's Detective novel, below suspicion. Modern authorities dispute
this and claim that neither pot nor any other drug is a true aphrodisiac. That is, neither
pot nor any other drug will provoke passion in an otherwise neutral situation.
There can be little doubt, however, that marijuana definitely tends to enhance sex, for
many users, when the situation is propitious.
A 38 year-old radio announcer:
A woman's body becomes a cafeteria. You want to eat every part of it. No part of it
is sacred, yet everything is sacred.
A 31 year-old housewife:
It lasted forever. Everything, the foreplay, the actual act, the orgasm. I'm sure
marijuana prolongs sex beyond the ordinary span. It gives you more endurance.
A 22 year-old coed at the University of New Mexico:
I know that marijuana really isn't an aphrodisiac. But for me it IS. Because when
I smoke with my boyfriend, the sensations go right to my genitals. He can be in another room,
and I will feel it in the vagina. It's almost and independent thing.
A 26 year-old housewife told of trying marijuana alone in the afternoon:
'I became so horny that I called my husband at the office and insisted he come home
immediately.' When he couldn't oblige: '... the feeling was so intense that I actually went
in to the bedroom and masturbated.'
Former U.S. Commissioner of Narcotics Harry J. Anslinger:
In the earliest stages of intoxication, the will power is destroyed ... moral
barricades are broken down, and often debauchery and sexuality result.
Dr. James Fadiman, psychologist:
Marijuana helps you listen to your senses. Anything that makes you more aware makes
sex better.
The usual references by enthusiasts are to increased sensitivity, more empathy and so
forth. By contrast, the publisher of a medical journal told Barbara Lewis that marijuana
had improved his sex life by making him more brutal:
Why am I a better lover? because I find myself fucking a hell of a lot harder
than it would have occured to me before. I'm able to accept the fact that some women like
to be fucked violently.
A Berkeley coed said:
You actually make love for an hour, an hour and a half. Without marijuana you'd get
into the actual fucking a part a lot faster and then it would be over.
A 22 year-old coed from Long Island had an experience that devotees of sexual yoga will
recognise:
After smoking there are times when I literally felt as if I'm a huge cunt. And that
he's a large penis. In your mind's eye, this is how you see yourself.
A 32 year-old California pharmacist reported the same traditionally occult experience:
I sometimes felt like a huge sexual organ, like I'm duplicating the thrust of the
penis. And that the woman's body has the proportions of one large vaginal tract. It's an
exciting sensation; it has an intrinsic rhythm, movement and music of its own.
From Robert Anton Wilson's book Sex and Drugs: A Journey Beyond Limits:
"The paleolithic situation was orgiastic and this made it impossible for men to trace lines of male paternity, consequently there was no concept of 'my children' for men. It was 'our children' meaning 'we, the group.' This orgiastic style worked into the effects of higher doses of psilocybin to create a situation of frequent boundary dissolution. That's what sexuality is, on one level, about and it's what psychedelics, on another level, are about. With the termination of this orgiastic, mushroom using style of existence, a very neurotic and repressive social style emerged which is now worldwide and typical of western civilization." -Terence McKenna
The multitude of sexual expressions is just as great and manifold as human behavior in general. Here, like everywhere in Chaos Magic, it is useful to keep in mind that if it works for you, use it! Remember, the real sex magicians, male and female, have always known that and discarded social conditioning and taboos, right along with the do`s and don'ts of dogma.
We do magic to liberate ourselves. So if it is possible for one thing to be sacred we logically conclude that everything else can be sacred too."
From Sex and Magic, by Fra. Apfelmann
