"Ventrilo 2.3.0 is the next evolutionary step of Voice over IP or 'VoIP?' group communications software. Ventrilo is also the industry standard by which all others measure themselves as they attempt to imitate its features." - from their site

Primarily designed for live group chat whilst gaming, deoxy members have been producing live chat/talk shows and music performances via a ventrilo server. (see 'Praxis' and 'Sounds from Deoxy'). You will need a headset to utilize this software to its fullest, however almost any microphone and your computer's speakers will do just fine.

Connection information:
we use a ventrilo server with 50 slots

• Download a free client here
• Install as you would other softwares
• Connect to server

Connect to the server by copying the italicised text and pasting it into your browser : ventrilo://www.bluesphereweb.com:3784/servername=open&channelname=deoxy

• Servername: open
• Hostname: bluesphereweb.com
• Port: 3784
  

Once connected:

• most of the default settings will get you going perfectly well, but some minor adjustments might be necessary.
• double click on the name of the 'room' you wish to join. (ie. 'Praxis' or 'Sounds from deoxy'.)
• there is an 'irc like' chat interface accessible by clicking 'chat' on the right side of the main console.
