World in Turmoil
You may not be able to tell from these still photos, but it has been observed that the civilization of man on the planet earth has self-destructive tendencies which may eventually effect man's ability to continue living on the planet.
The reasons for this have been detailed in various works of art, such as:
- 2001: A Space Oddysey
- The Matrix (specifically, the Animatrix: Second Renaissance pt. 1 and pt. 2)
- A.I.
- I Robot
The consistent theme throughout these 'fictional' examples is an acknowledgement of man's abusive attitude toward his tools and resources. Man creates things and then demands production out of them to the point of exhaustion. Eventually, the oppressed creations of man act violently in an attempt to survive.
How Did This Situation Develop?
Nobody knows for sure how this situation developed, but research has indicated that fear and desire are the two main factors contributing to man's downward spiral. Evidence suggests that man has an irrational fear of the unknown and desires a level of control over his environment which is impossible to obtain, and this is the main cause of his abusive and production-oriented approach to life.
Since the fears and desires of man are so detached from anything reasonable, there has been suggestions that this process was set in motion intentionally many years ago. Some speculation has been put forth that this was set in motion many years ago by a scientist named Yacub (illustrated right).
There is no conclusive evidence to support this, but it seems to be the best fitting of all possibilities.
How Things Will Turn Out
All indications suggest that everything in the universe will be fine regardless of what happens on Earth. It appears that turmoil will continue and intensify on the surface of the planet until the unnecessary fears and desires are eliminated, and the subsequent slave-master mentality disappears.
One can only estimate what the surface of Earth will be like after this. Weighing all factors involved, it appears that there will be some sort of life involving man and machine in mutually beneficial circumstances.
It seems that man's natural hobby is to create, and once these destructive tendencies are gone, there seems to be no reason why man should not be able to spend his time doing what he enjoys most.
